Early Childhood Screening
Early Childhood Health and Developmental Screening (ECHDS) is required by state law and must be completed before a child enters Kindergarten. ECHDS includes two parts:
- Developmental screening to evaluate your child’s motor development, concepts, speech and language.
- Health screening which includes a vision, hearing, and visual dental check as well as an immunization review.
This is also an excellent opportunity for parents to become familiar with the preschool programs and early childhood resources available in the community. Appointments are scheduled when children are 3 -1/2 to 4 years old.
Upcoming 2018-19 screening dates are:
- September 21
- October 12 & 13
- November 9 & 10
- December 7
- January 11
